Not every moment in the life of a Roman legionary was spent marching towards an enemy. Much of military life involved the repetitive tasks required to keep the army fed, supplied, equipped and ready to move again.

ROM200C – The Water Carrier captures one of those moments, with the soldier engaged in supplying water around the encampment.

This version is supplied with the distinctive green shield, making it easy to coordinate with similarly equipped figures or simply introduce another colour variation among the camp Romans.

Water-carrying figures are particularly effective near cooking areas, tents and groups of resting legionaries. A few carefully positioned working figures can completely change the atmosphere of a display, suggesting an army temporarily settled into camp rather than one permanently frozen in battle formation.
