SFA063 – Colour Sergeant Bourne
Colour Sergeant Frank Bourne became one of the most famous figures of the Anglo-Zulu War through his actions during the Defence of Rorke's Drift on 22–23 January 1879. At just twenty-four years of age, Bourne was the youngest Colour Sergeant in the British Army. Throughout the battle he displayed exceptional leadership, organising ammunition distribution and maintaining discipline among the exhausted defenders as wave after wave of Zulu warriors attacked the mission station.
The Military Workshop's SFA063 – Colour Sergeant Bourne commemorates one of the heroes of Rorke's Drift. Rich in character and historical significance, this figure perfectly captures the calm determination of a man whose actions contributed greatly to one of Britain's most celebrated military defences.
An outstanding addition for collectors and historians alike, this figure honours a remarkable soldier whose service became part of military legend.
