SNY3-07N - Four Infantrymen, 3rd New York Regiment | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set represents soldiers of the 3rd New York Regiment during the American War of Independence, particularly their service during the 1777 campaign in the Mohawk Valley.
The set contains four infantrymen in two different poses, with two standing and loading their muskets and two kneeling and firing.
The combination of loading and firing poses allows collectors to recreate the activity of Continental soldiers during an eighteenth-century musket engagement.
The 3rd New York Regiment was originally raised in 1775 and subsequently reorganised under Colonel Peter Gansevoort in December 1776.
During 1777, the regiment became closely associated with the defence of Fort Stanwix, an important American position threatened by British forces under Barry St. Leger.
The events surrounding the siege were closely connected with the Battle of Oriskany, where American militia attempting to relieve the fort encountered a major enemy force.
SNY3-07N is particularly suitable for representing the Continental soldiers defending an established position or engaging opposing troops.
The four-figure set can be displayed alongside the regiment's officers, standard bearers and additional infantry sets to create a more complete American formation.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
