SNY3-08N - Four Infantrymen, 3rd New York Regiment | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set represents Continental infantrymen of the 3rd New York Regiment during the American War of Independence.
The set includes four figures in two different poses, with two soldiers standing and firing their muskets and two kneeling while ramming their weapons during the loading process.
These poses illustrate the firing and reloading activities of eighteenth-century infantrymen armed with muzzle-loading muskets.
The 3rd New York Regiment was originally established in 1775 and later reorganised under Colonel Peter Gansevoort.
During the 1777 campaign, members of the regiment were stationed at Fort Stanwix, which became an important American stronghold during the British offensive through the Mohawk Valley.
The defence of Fort Stanwix was closely associated with the Battle of Oriskany, where American militia attempted to relieve the besieged fort.
The regiment's service contributed to the American resistance against British operations in the region.
SNY3-08N provides four infantrymen in active firing and loading poses, making it particularly suitable for a Continental defensive firing line.
It can be combined with SNY3-08 and the regiment's other infantry sets to recreate a larger American formation during the Mohawk Valley Campaign.
