SP058 – Corner Flower Shop | King & Country
SP058 “Corner Flower Shop” is a charming scenic building from King & Country, designed to bring character and everyday civilian life to a European town or village display.
The building represents the type of small corner shop that would have been a familiar sight throughout France, Belgium, Holland and other parts of Western Europe during the first half of the 20th century. With its shopfront appearance and residential-style upper level, it helps recreate the close-knit streets and commercial districts found in towns both before and during the Second World War.
During wartime, shops such as this often continued trading for as long as possible despite shortages, occupation and the disruption caused by military activity. In other locations, civilian buildings were damaged, abandoned or temporarily taken over for military purposes as troops moved through towns and villages.
SP058 is particularly effective in displays based around the Battle of France, occupied Europe, Normandy and the Allied advance through Northwest Europe in 1944–45.
