SP083 – The Village Stable | King & Country
A good diorama building does far more than simply fill space in the background. SP083 – The Village Stable is designed as a versatile structure that can help turn a collection of figures and vehicles into a much more convincing scene.
King & Country created this piece as a replacement for its earlier Desert Village Stable, giving the newer version a different architectural character. The structure combines stonework with half-timbered construction, giving it the appearance of a practical rural building that could be adapted to a wide variety of settings. King & Country originally promoted it as suitable for displays ranging from ancient or biblical scenes through to the First and Second World Wars.
Its real strength lies in its flexibility. In a medieval or Napoleonic village it can sit comfortably alongside civilians, horses and carts, while in a WWII display it can become part of a French, Belgian or other European village occupied by troops and military vehicles. With a few figures positioned around the entrance, it can quickly become a stable, storehouse, farm building or simply another lived-in part of a village street.
Buildings such as SP083 are particularly useful for adding height and depth to a display. Rather than having every figure arranged on open ground, the stable provides a natural focal point and helps create the impression that the scene continues beyond the immediate group of miniatures.
Available from The Military Workshop – a highly adaptable King & Country scenic piece that can provide the foundation for everything from a peaceful village scene to a wartime diorama.
