SSB-37 – Cheyenne Dog Soldier | John Jenkins Designs

SSB-37 depicts a warrior of the famous Cheyenne Dog Soldier Society, one of the best-known military societies of the Plains.

The Dog Men formed a large and powerful organisation within Cheyenne society, with members bound together through shared military traditions, ceremonies and responsibilities.

Among their most celebrated warriors were those selected to wear the long Dog Rope sash. During a battle that was going badly, these men could drive their spear into the ground and remain attached to the spot while fighting to cover the retreat of their companions.

They were expected to hold their position even at the cost of their own lives.

Distinctive headdresses, painted leggings, whistles and body paint added to the striking appearance of these warriors, making SSB-37 a highly characterful addition to the Thunder on the Plains collection.

Will be available from The Military Workshop.
