SX-35B – Fyrdman

The Fyrd provided Anglo-Saxon rulers with a means of raising additional manpower when the kingdom faced war or invasion. These troops fought alongside the professional Housecarls and could form a substantial part of the Saxon battle line.

SX-35B – Fyrdman represents one of these rank-and-file warriors prepared to take his place among his companions. His individual pose provides collectors with another variation for building a large force without creating an overly uniform appearance.

Combined with the many other Fyrdmen in the SX series, he can help extend a shield wall, reinforce a threatened position or take part in a more open and chaotic hand-to-hand battle.
