SX-53B – Fyrdman

The Fyrd formed an essential part of the military system of Anglo-Saxon England. When the kingdom faced invasion or a major military campaign, these locally raised fighting men could be called upon to reinforce the king’s professional warriors.

SX-53B – Fyrdman represents one of these Saxon soldiers ready to take his place within the battle line. While the Housecarls formed the professional elite, the Fyrd provided the numbers needed to create a substantial army and extend the defensive shield wall.

This B variation can be mixed with the many other individual Fyrdmen to create a formation filled with different poses, shields and individual characters.
