SX-61B – Two Wounded Fyrdmen

The Fyrd provided much of the manpower available to an Anglo-Saxon king. These locally raised troops could be called upon to defend the kingdom, fighting alongside the more experienced professional Housecarls.

SX-61B – Two Wounded Fyrdmen contains a particularly dramatic pair. One standing warrior, carrying a black and red shield, has been struck by an arrow, while his companion kneels and cowers behind a white and black shield.

The contrasting poses tell their own miniature battlefield story, capturing both the physical danger of missile fire and the instinctive reaction of a warrior attempting to protect himself.

The Military Workshop offers SX-61B as an excellent John Jenkins casualty set for adding action, vulnerability and realism to a Saxon shield-wall display.
