SX-67A – Saxon Archers

Before opposing armies closed for hand-to-hand combat, missile fire could play an important part in disrupting the enemy formation. Saxon archers offered commanders another means of attacking while the main body of warriors prepared for the decisive engagement.

SX-67A – Saxon Archers captures these bowmen in action and provides an excellent supporting element for a force of Saxon Housecarls and Fyrdmen.

The figures work particularly well when spread naturally across the battlefield rather than placed in rigid ranks, reflecting their different role from the heavily armed warriors of the shield wall.
