The mounted archer was at the heart of Scythian military power. Growing up in a culture closely connected with horses gave Scythian warriors the ability to combine exceptional mobility with deadly missile fire.
SY-04A – Mounted Scythian Archer portrays one of these horsemen equipped with the bow that made steppe cavalry so difficult for conventional infantry to counter.
Mounted archers could approach an enemy, release their arrows and withdraw before slower troops could force them into close combat. Their tactics would influence warfare across the Eurasian steppe for centuries.
