TH-12A – Thracian Peltast

The Thracian peltasts were among the most famous light infantry of the ancient world. Named after the distinctive pelta shield they carried, these mobile warriors relied on speed, javelins and flexible tactics rather than the heavy armour and rigid formations associated with Greek hoplites.

TH-12A – Thracian Peltast represents one of these agile warriors, ideally suited to operating ahead of the main battle line. Peltasts could harass enemy formations with repeated volleys of javelins before withdrawing beyond the reach of slower heavy infantry.

The figure works particularly well alongside the other TH peltast variations, allowing collectors to assemble a sizeable and naturally varied Thracian skirmishing force.
