THYORK-05 – Wounded Archers, Retinue of Sir Thomas Howard of Ashwellthorpe, Earl of Surrey
The battles of the Wars of the Roses could be exceptionally brutal, and archers were far from safe once the opposing armies closed with one another. Although capable of inflicting casualties from considerable distance, they could themselves suffer heavily from enemy arrows and close-quarter fighting.
THYORK-05 – Wounded Archers depicts casualties from the retinue of Sir Thomas Howard of Ashwellthorpe, Earl of Surrey, showing the human cost behind the colourful standards and armour of a late-medieval army.
These figures are particularly useful for breaking up an orderly battle line and creating the confusion and disorder of a battle already well underway.
The Military Workshop offers THYORK-05 as a dramatic John Jenkins set for adding realism and storytelling to a Wars of the Roses battlefield.
