The origins of the Black Watch lay in the independent Highland companies raised to maintain order in the Scottish Highlands. These companies were eventually formed into the regiment that became the 42nd Regiment of Foot, beginning a distinguished military history that would continue for centuries.
TICBS-01 – Black Watch Line Infantry Marching depicts the regiment’s soldiers moving together in formation, capturing the disciplined appearance of Highland infantry on campaign.
