Rain-in-the-Face was a Hunkpapa Lakota warrior whose name became closely connected with the stories and legends surrounding the Battle of the Little Bighorn.

A respected warrior and contemporary of figures such as Sitting Bull, he participated in the resistance to U.S. expansion across Lakota lands and became one of the best-known Native American personalities associated with the events of 1876.
