TWG-03 – Achilles, The Greeks
No warrior is more closely associated with the Trojan War than Achilles. Son of the mortal Peleus and the sea-nymph Thetis, Achilles was regarded as the greatest fighter among the Greek forces assembled before Troy.
His anger and withdrawal from battle form the central theme of Homer’s Iliad. Following the death of his beloved companion Patroclus, Achilles returned to the fighting and confronted Hector, killing Troy’s greatest defender in one of the most famous episodes of ancient literature.
TWG-03 – Achilles provides collectors with the natural centrepiece for the Greek side of a Trojan War display, particularly when surrounded by his legendary Myrmidon warriors.
The Military Workshop is proud to offer this superb John Jenkins representation of Achilles – the greatest Greek warrior and one of the most enduring heroes of the ancient world.
