The warriors defending Troy fought beneath the shadow of one of mythology’s most famous cities.
Their king was the elderly Priam, father of a remarkable family that included Hector and Paris. While the actions of Paris helped set the legendary conflict in motion, it was Hector who became the great military defender of the city.
Behind these famous names stood Troy’s fighting men. They faced some of the greatest warriors of Greek mythology knowing that defeat could mean the destruction of their city and everything they were fighting to protect.
This gives the Trojan story a powerful human dimension. For these warriors, the struggle was not simply about glory or conquest — it was the defence of home.
