TWTAZ-05 – Derimacheia, The Amazons

The legendary Amazons were a nation of warrior women who occupied a fascinating place in ancient Greek mythology. They were portrayed as skilled horsewomen, archers and fighters who lived beyond the familiar boundaries of the Greek world.

TWTAZ-05 – Derimacheia represents one of these legendary Amazon warriors, bringing another individual personality to the forces associated with the Trojan War.

The Amazons were traditionally connected with Troy through the story of Queen Penthesilea, who came to the aid of the Trojans after the death of Hector. Derimacheia can therefore be displayed alongside Penthesilea and the other Amazon warriors to create a distinctive allied contingent.
