The USBS-11 - Union Cavalry celebrates the courage, mobility and fighting spirit of the mounted soldiers who served with the Union Army during the American Civil War (1861–1865).

At the outbreak of the war, Union cavalry units were still developing their battlefield role. As the conflict progressed, they evolved into highly effective mounted forces, undertaking reconnaissance, screening advancing armies, conducting raids behind Confederate lines and engaging in fierce cavalry battles across the Eastern and Western Theatres. Armed with carbines, revolvers and sabres, Union cavalrymen became increasingly capable of fighting both on horseback and on foot, giving commanders valuable tactical flexibility.

USBS-11 - Union Cavalry

By the later years of the war, Union cavalry had become one of the Army's greatest strengths under leaders such as Major General Philip Sheridan. Their aggressive tactics proved instrumental during campaigns including the Gettysburg Campaign, the Overland Campaign and the final operations leading to General Robert E. Lee's surrender at Appomattox Court House in April 1865.

This beautifully sculpted figure captures the confidence and determination of a Union cavalryman, bringing the movement and excitement of mounted warfare to life. Whether displayed as a standalone piece or incorporated into a larger Civil War diorama, it evokes the drama of one of America's most defining conflicts.

A superb addition for collectors of American Civil War history, mounted military figures and 19th-century military miniatures, this figure is sure to become a standout piece in any historical collection.
