USBS-29A – Union Cavalry | John Jenkins Designs
USBS-29A represents mounted troopers of the Union Cavalry Corps, Army of the Potomac, during the Battle of Brandy Station.
The Union attack was intended as a powerful spoiling operation against Confederate cavalry believed to be preparing for action against Federal supply lines. Pleasonton planned to strike from two directions, hoping to surprise and envelop J.E.B. Stuart’s forces.
The battle that followed developed into a sprawling cavalry engagement involving thousands of mounted troops and some of the most intense cavalry fighting of the Civil War.
For Union horsemen, Brandy Station became an important moment in the development of the Cavalry Corps, demonstrating that they could meet the celebrated Confederate cavalry on much more equal terms.
USBS-29A is an excellent addition to a mounted Union formation and helps recreate the scale and movement of this historic engagement.
Will be available from The Military Workshop.
