USBS-29B – Union Cavalry | John Jenkins Designs
USBS-29B depicts Union cavalrymen of the Army of the Potomac during the Battle of Brandy Station.
Union cavalry entered the battle as part of Major General Alfred Pleasonton’s large mounted force, which attempted a two-pronged advance across the Rappahannock River to surprise and overwhelm the Confederate cavalry concentrated around Culpeper and Brandy Station.
Mounted troops on both sides carried sabres and pistols, with cavalry fighting capable of becoming extremely confused and violent once opposing formations came into close contact.
Although one side frequently broke before a charge actually reached home, when cavalry did collide the fighting could become prolonged and vicious.
USBS-29B provides another useful mounted element for collectors building Pleasonton’s Cavalry Corps and works especially well alongside USBS-29A and the larger USBS-29N2 set.
Will be available from The Military Workshop.
