USBS-29N2 – 4 Union Cavalry | John Jenkins Designs
USBS-29N2 brings together four Union cavalrymen representing the Cavalry Corps of the Army of the Potomac during the Battle of Brandy Station.
On 9 June 1863, approximately 9,000 Union cavalrymen, supported by around 3,000 infantry, crossed the Rappahannock River to attack J.E.B. Stuart’s Confederate cavalry near Brandy Station, Virginia.
The Union force was commanded by Major General Alfred Pleasonton and divided into separate wings operating under experienced cavalry commanders including John Buford and David McMurtrie Gregg.
The resulting engagement lasted for much of the day and covered many square miles, making it one of the great mounted clashes of the American Civil War.
This larger grouping is an excellent way to quickly build a substantial Union cavalry formation and brings considerable movement and presence to a Brandy Station display.
Will be available from The Military Workshop.
