WAD-23A – Australian 1st Light Car Patrol 1917, Ford Model T “Billzac” – Driver
The 1st Australian Light Car Patrol brought a new form of mobility to the desert campaigns of the First World War. Using modified Ford Model T vehicles, these Australian troops could scout, patrol and move rapidly across terrain where conventional transport often struggled.
WAD-23A portrays the driver of “Billzac”, one of the individually named Model Ts associated with the patrol. Driving across desert country demanded considerable skill, mechanical knowledge and self-reliance, particularly when operating far from established bases.
This figure is designed to complement the Billzac vehicle and its accompanying crew, helping collectors build a detailed representation of this unusual Australian wartime unit.
The Military Workshop is pleased to offer WAD-23A – a distinctive John Jenkins figure celebrating the men and machines of the Australian 1st Light Car Patrol.
