WB79-07 - 79th (Draper's) Regiment of Foot, Line Infantry | John Jenkins Designs
WB79-07 represents line infantry of the British 79th (Draper's) Regiment of Foot during the Battle of Wandewash, fought on 22 January 1760.
The regiment was originally raised in 1757 and was subsequently renumbered as the 79th Regiment. It served primarily in India from 1758, participating in the campaigns fought between British and French forces during the Third Carnatic War.
The Battle of Wandewash saw the British army under Sir Eyre Coote defeat the French forces commanded by the Comte de Lally, contributing to Britain's growing military advantage in southern India.
This infantry release provides collectors with a group of British regular soldiers for recreating the 79th Regiment.
It can be combined with WB79-08 and the corresponding larger infantry sets to build a more extensive regimental formation.
The range also includes an officer, drummer and standard bearers, allowing collectors to represent additional elements of the regiment within their battlefield arrangements.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
