WB79-08N2 - 79th (Draper's) Regiment of Foot, Line Infantry Set | John Jenkins Designs
WB79-08N2 represents a larger group of British line infantry from the 79th (Draper's) Regiment of Foot during the Battle of Wandewash on 22 January 1760.
The regiment was raised in November 1757 and served primarily in India during the Third Carnatic War. Commanded by Major Brereton, it formed part of the British forces involved in the conflict against France.
The Battle of Wandewash was a decisive engagement in the struggle for military control of southern India, with Sir Eyre Coote's British forces defeating the French army commanded by the Comte de Lally.
This larger infantry set provides collectors with an opportunity to develop a more substantial representation of the 79th Regiment.
It complements the WB79-08 release and can be combined with WB79-07, WB79-07N2 and the regiment's command figures to assemble a broader British infantry formation.
The set also works alongside the 84th Regiment and British Sepoys from the same historical collection, allowing a more comprehensive representation of the British forces at Wandewash.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
