WB84-02 - Standard Bearer, 84th (Coote's) Regiment of Foot | John Jenkins Designs

This figure portrays a standard bearer of the British 84th (Coote's) Regiment of Foot during the Third Carnatic War and the Battle of Wandewash on 22 January 1760.

Regimental colours were an important part of eighteenth-century military tradition, serving as symbols of a regiment's identity and providing a recognisable point around which soldiers could maintain their formation.

The 84th Regiment was raised in 1759 for service in India and fought as part of the British forces commanded by Sir Eyre Coote. Its participation in the campaign contributed to the British victory over the French army led by the Comte de Lally.

This standard bearer adds a distinctive regimental element to displays of the British Army at Wandewash.

It pairs particularly well with the 84th Regiment Officer (WB84-01) and Drummer (WB84-04), allowing collectors to assemble a command group that can be positioned alongside the regiment's line infantry.

An addition for collectors recreating British military formations from the Seven Years War in India.
