WB84-06 - 84th (Coote's) Regiment of Foot, Line Infantry | John Jenkins Designs

This release represents a line infantryman serving with the British 84th (Coote's) Regiment of Foot during the Seven Years War and the Third Carnatic War in India.

Raised in 1759, the 84th Regiment was established specifically for service in the Indian campaigns. It formed part of the British regular forces involved in the conflict with France over influence and territory in southern India.

At the Battle of Wandewash on 22 January 1760, British forces under Sir Eyre Coote defeated the French army commanded by the Comte de Lally, helping to establish Britain's military advantage in the region.

WB84-06 provides another infantry figure for collectors building a representation of the 84th Regiment.

The figure can be combined with WB84-05, WB84-07 and WB84-08 to expand a British line infantry formation. The range also includes an officer, standard bearer and drummer, enabling a more complete regimental arrangement.

This release is suited to displays depicting British regular soldiers during the campaigns in India.
