WB84-07 - 84th (Coote's) Regiment of Foot, Line Infantry | John Jenkins Designs
WB84-07 depicts a soldier of the British 84th (Coote's) Regiment of Foot during the Battle of Wandewash, one of the decisive engagements of the Third Carnatic War.
The regiment was raised in January 1759 for military service in India and participated in the campaigns that brought British and French forces into direct confrontation.
On 22 January 1760, Sir Eyre Coote's British army defeated the forces led by the Comte de Lally at Wandewash. The outcome weakened the French military position and contributed to the subsequent British success at Pondicherry.
This individual line infantry figure provides an additional soldier for collectors assembling the 84th Regiment.
WB84-07 complements the other line infantry releases, including WB84-05, WB84-06 and WB84-08, allowing figures from the same regiment to be displayed together.
It can also be incorporated into larger scenes featuring the British 79th Regiment, British Sepoys and the opposing French Army at Wandewash.
