WB84-08N - Four Line Infantry, 84th (Coote's) Regiment of Foot | John Jenkins Designs
WB84-08N represents four line infantrymen of the British 84th (Coote's) Regiment of Foot during the Battle of Wandewash on 22 January 1760.
The 84th Regiment was raised in January 1759 specifically for service in India and formed part of the British forces engaged against the French during the Third Carnatic War.
Under Sir Eyre Coote, the British army achieved an important victory at Wandewash against the forces commanded by the Comte de Lally. The engagement helped determine the outcome of the struggle between Britain and France for influence in southern India.
This four-figure infantry set provides an opportunity to expand a British regimental formation with a coordinated group of soldiers.
The set can be combined with the individual 84th Regiment releases, including WB84-05, WB84-06 and WB84-07, to build a more substantial infantry force.
The officer, standard bearer and drummer from the same series can also be incorporated into the display, offering collectors a broader representation of the regiment.
Set includes: 4 British line infantry figures.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
