WBS-03N - Four British Sepoys | John Jenkins Designs
This four-figure set represents Indian Sepoys serving with the British Army during the Battle of Wandewash on 22 January 1760.
During the Third Carnatic War, British forces in India included both European regular infantry and locally recruited Indian soldiers serving under the East India Company.
The Sepoys formed an increasingly important part of this military organisation. By the 1750s, the Company was developing more formal training and equipment arrangements for its Indian troops, bringing their organisation closer to that of European infantry.
These soldiers contributed to the British military presence in India during the conflict with France and the subsequent expansion of the East India Company's influence.
WBS-03N provides four Sepoy figures for collectors wishing to build a larger representation of the Indian troops associated with British forces.
The set can be displayed alongside WBS-03 and WBS-02N, allowing a more substantial Sepoy contingent to be assembled.
It also complements the British 79th and 84th Regiments of Foot, providing variety for historical dioramas representing the Battle of Wandewash.
Set includes: 4 British Sepoy figures.
Now available from The Military Workshop.
