WFLAL-06N2 - Lally's (Irish) Regiment, French Line Infantry Set | John Jenkins Designs

WFLAL-06N2 represents a larger group of infantry soldiers serving with Lally's Irish Regiment in the French Army during the Third Carnatic War.

The regiment's second battalion was sent to India as part of the French military effort during the Seven Years War, arriving on the Coromandel Coast in April 1758.

The battalion took part in the Siege of Fort St. David and the unsuccessful operations against Madras before participating in the Battle of Wandewash on 22 January 1760.

The British victory at Wandewash proved decisive in the struggle between the two European powers for control of southern India, leaving the French increasingly confined to their remaining positions around Pondicherry.

This larger infantry release provides collectors with an opportunity to expand their representation of the French regular forces involved in these campaigns.

WFLAL-06N2 can be combined with the smaller WFLAL-06 release and the additional infantry sets from Lally's Regiment to construct a more substantial formation.

The group's officer, standard bearer and drummer can also be incorporated into a larger battlefield display.
