WFLAL-07N - Lally's (Irish) Regiment, French Line Infantry Set | John Jenkins Designs
WFLAL-07N represents a larger group of soldiers from Lally's Irish Regiment during the French military campaigns in southern India.
The regiment served under the command of the Comte de Lally-Tollendal during the Seven Years War and was involved in several significant engagements during the Third Carnatic War.
Its second battalion arrived in India in 1758 and participated in the operations against Fort St. David and Madras.
The regiment subsequently fought at the Battle of Wandewash on 22 January 1760, where Sir Eyre Coote's British army defeated the French forces.
The British victory at Wandewash marked a significant turning point in the campaign, leading to the gradual loss of French military positions in southern India.
This larger infantry set provides collectors with an opportunity to build a more extensive representation of Lally's Regiment.
WFLAL-07N complements WFLAL-07 and the other regular infantry releases, allowing a substantial French formation to be assembled for historical displays.
The figures can also be combined with the regiment's officer, standard bearer and drummer to represent additional elements of the unit.
