WH107 – Rommel's Staff Car – Normandy

By early 1944, Field Marshal Erwin Rommel had been given responsibility for strengthening German defences in anticipation of the Allied invasion of Western Europe. He travelled extensively through the coastal regions inspecting fortifications, obstacles and troop positions along the Atlantic Wall.

WH107 – Rommel's Staff Car (Normandy) represents the type of staff transport associated with the German field marshal during this crucial period. A commander's car was far more than simple transportation – it allowed senior officers to move rapidly between headquarters, defensive sectors and meetings with subordinate commanders.

This vehicle opens up some excellent display possibilities. It can be shown arriving at an Atlantic Wall position, parked beside a headquarters or combined with a Rommel personality figure and staff officers to recreate an inspection tour in the weeks surrounding D-Day.
