The 19th Regiment of Light Dragoons served in India during a period of intense military campaigning, when mounted troops provided commanders with valuable speed and flexibility.

WIN19-08 – Trooper depicts one of the regiment’s cavalrymen mounted for action. Light dragoons could undertake reconnaissance, protect exposed flanks, pursue a retreating enemy and rapidly reinforce threatened areas of the battlefield.

Grouped with the other 19th Light Dragoon releases, this figure helps create a varied body of British cavalry and provides a striking contrast to the massed infantry formations of the 74th Regiment and Madras Native Infantry.
