WIS2-02 – 2nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment, 1861 (2 pcs) | John Jenkins Designs

The summer of 1861 found thousands of newly enlisted American soldiers preparing for a kind of warfare few had experienced. Among them were the men of the 2nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment.

This two-piece WIS2-02 set represents soldiers of the regiment during that early-war period, before years of campaigning turned the survivors into veterans.

The 2nd Wisconsin's baptism of fire came at First Bull Run, after which the regiment continued serving in the Eastern Theatre. Its later association with the Iron Brigade would make the Wisconsin troops some of the most recognisable Union infantry of the war.

For collectors, the two-figure configuration makes WIS2-02 particularly useful for filling gaps between larger groups. Combined with WIS2-02N, WIS2-03 and the other figures in the series, it becomes possible to create a sizeable formation without relying upon one repeated pose.
