WOD014 – Dick Swiveller

Richard “Dick” Swiveller is one of the memorable characters from Charles Dickens' The Old Curiosity Shop, first published in serial form between 1840 and 1841.

Initially presented as a somewhat carefree and irresponsible young man, Dick's story develops considerably as the novel progresses. His friendship with the mistreated servant girl known as the Marchioness reveals a much kinder and more generous side to his character.
