Few Christmas characters are more famous than Ebenezer Scrooge, the miserly businessman at the centre of Charles Dickens' 1843 novella A Christmas Carol.

Scrooge begins the story dismissing Christmas goodwill with his famous “Bah! Humbug!” attitude, but a remarkable night of supernatural encounters forces him to reconsider the way he has lived his life.
