The Panzer IV became one of Germany’s most important tanks of the Second World War, remaining in production throughout the conflict and undergoing continual improvements to armour and firepower.

The Ausf. H was one of the most numerous later variants, armed with the long-barrelled 75mm gun and often fitted with protective side skirts or Schürzen. It appeared on multiple fronts during the increasingly difficult battles of 1943–45.
