WSP-12 – Incapacitated Warrior on Travois
Before the widespread use of wheeled vehicles across the Great Plains, the travois provided an important method of transporting belongings and, when necessary, people who were unable to travel unaided. The simple frame could be pulled across the ground and was particularly well suited to the mobile lifestyle of Plains communities.
WSP-12 – Incapacitated Warrior on Travois depicts a wounded or otherwise incapacitated warrior being transported, offering a more sombre glimpse of frontier and Plains life.
Rather than concentrating on the moment of combat, the set portrays what could happen afterwards and provides collectors with an unusual storytelling piece for a travelling group, camp or larger Plains scene.
The Military Workshop is pleased to offer WSP-12 – a distinctive John Jenkins set that adds another dimension to a Whiskey, Scalps & Beaver Pelts display.
