WSP-121 – The Forty-Niner

The term “Forty-Niner” became synonymous with the thousands of fortune seekers who flooded into California during 1849, following news of the discovery of gold at Sutter’s Mill the previous year.

WSP-121 – The Forty-Niner represents one of these adventurous prospectors who left behind familiar lives and travelled west in search of wealth. Some crossed the continent by wagon, others travelled by sea, but all faced considerable uncertainty upon reaching the goldfields.

This individual character works beautifully alongside the other miners and prospectors in the series, helping create a colourful scene from one of the most famous periods of American westward expansion.
