Few survival stories from the American frontier are as extraordinary as that of Hugh Glass. In 1823, while travelling with a fur-trapping expedition, Glass was savagely attacked by a grizzly bear and suffered horrific injuries.
Believing he would die, members of the expedition eventually left him behind. Against remarkable odds, Glass survived and began an extraordinary journey through the wilderness, crawling and travelling towards safety despite his wounds. His story later became part of American frontier legend and inspired numerous books and films, including The Revenant.
