WSP-57 – Two Squaws
Women played an important role in the communities and trading networks of the North American frontier. They prepared food and hides, made clothing and other essential items, cared for families and participated in the complex social and economic relationships that developed around the fur trade.
WSP-57 – Two Squaws depicts two Native American women, providing collectors with figures representing everyday life rather than warfare. (The product title uses the historical term “Squaws”; today, “Native American women” is generally preferred.)
The pair is particularly useful in a village, encampment, trading post or rendezvous scene, where civilian figures help create a much richer representation of frontier life.
