YORK-27N – The Battle of Bosworth Field 1485, Yorkist Billmen Set
The Battle of Bosworth Field on 22 August 1485 was one of the defining moments of the Wars of the Roses. The forces of King Richard III faced the army of Henry Tudor in a battle that would end with Richard’s death and the beginning of the Tudor dynasty.
YORK-27N – Yorkist Billmen Set represents soldiers fighting on Richard’s side armed with the formidable bill, a polearm derived from an agricultural cutting tool and developed into an extremely effective infantry weapon.
Billmen formed an important part of English armies during the period, fighting alongside archers and heavily armoured men-at-arms. Their long weapons were well suited to the violent close-quarter encounters of a late-medieval battlefield.
Available from The Military Workshop – a superb John Jenkins set for building the Yorkist army at the Battle of Bosworth Field 1485.
