The effectiveness of the English longbow was greatest when archers were deployed in numbers. Large groups of bowmen could send volleys towards approaching enemy formations, disrupting their ranks before the battle developed into hand-to-hand fighting.

YORK-32 – 3 Yorkist Archers brings together three bowmen fighting for the Yorkist cause, immediately adding greater strength to the missile troops within a Wars of the Roses collection.

The three-figure grouping is particularly useful for building the flanks of a Yorkist army, where archers could support the billmen, knights and men-at-arms forming the main body of the force.
