HITT-08BN – Eight Hittite Spearmen – Battle of Kadesh, 1274 BC
HITT-08BN takes the HITT-08B spearmen and provides them in a substantial eight-piece formation, ideal for collectors building the Hittite army on a larger scale.
At Kadesh, Muwatalli II commanded a force powerful enough to challenge the army of one of Egypt's most famous pharaohs. The resulting battle has fascinated historians partly because extensive Egyptian records survive, although those accounts were created to glorify Ramesses II and cannot simply be read as neutral battlefield reports.
The Hittite perspective is therefore especially interesting to recreate in miniature. Rather than treating the army merely as the opposition to Ramesses, a substantial infantry force helps present the Hittites as the major imperial power they actually were.
Arrange HITT-08BN behind the chariots, combine the figures with HITT-08AN or mix them with the HITT-09 releases to create a deeper formation.
