ALB-06G – French Hussar | John Jenkins Designs
ALB-06G – French Hussar adds another mounted warrior of the 2nd Hussars to John Jenkins Designs’ representation of the Battle of Albuera.
On 16 May 1811, a sudden storm created the opportunity for French and Polish cavalry to strike Colborne’s brigade at precisely the moment the British troops were least prepared to meet them.
Hussars combined speed, horsemanship and aggressive battlefield mobility. When cavalry reached infantry before a defensive square could be formed, the consequences could be devastating, as the experience of the Buffs and neighbouring units at Albuera demonstrated.
The movement of the mounted figure makes ALB-06G particularly effective alongside the matching hussar and lancer releases. Arrange several horses at different angles and the scene quickly begins to suggest a chaotic cavalry breakthrough rather than a formal parade formation.
Now available from The Military Workshop – an impressive John Jenkins Designs French hussar for recreating “A Storm of Lancers” at Albuera.
