The immense Achaemenid Empire relied upon troops drawn from many different peoples and military traditions. Spearmen formed an important component of its infantry, providing protection and close-combat strength alongside the empire’s numerous archers.

AP-005AD – 2 Persian Spearmen brings together two warriors ready to take their place within a larger Persian formation.

They can be positioned alongside Sparabara troops and archers to create the layered appearance associated with Persian infantry, or used to reinforce a larger battle line confronting Greek hoplites and other ancient opponents.
