When Spanish expeditions entered the Americas during the early 16th century, their forces employed a mixture of traditional and relatively new weaponry.

CQ-04 – Arquebus and Crossbow brings together two of the period's important missile weapons. The crossbow was already well established, while the matchlock arquebus demonstrated the growing battlefield importance of gunpowder.

Together they make an excellent addition to a Conquistador formation, providing ranged support behind sword-and-buckler men and other close-combat troops.
