CS00453 - US Carrier carry Wounded | The Collectors Showcase

The American Civil War placed heavy demands on artillery units and their supporting crews. A gun position was a place of organised activity, but it was also exposed to danger and the human consequences of battle.

The CS00453 - US Carrier carry Wounded figure captures a particular moment from this wider setting. The carrier and wounded grouping introduces the human cost of battle into the Union artillery scene. It offers an expressive counterpoint to the active gun crew and can link a gun position to a wider battlefield diorama.

Together with the gun, officers and serving crew, the piece helps portray the organised work and dangers of artillery service.

This 54mm Civil War subject is a strong companion to the Union Napoleon gun and artillery crew figures, helping create a fuller and more convincing battery position.
